NINE|FOLD arranges high quality, pre-furnished housing prior to the arrival of sales reps. There is a lot to learn and obstacles to overcome during the summer, so we intimately understand the value of having a nice, comfortable home to return to every evening. The last thing we want are sales reps unable to perform because they are distracted by the quality of their living situation.
While many of our sales reps earn bonuses that pay their entire housing costs or earn free housing based on reaching performance levels, some sales reps do owe a few hundred dollars at the end of the summer to pay for cleaning, damages, and other rent related fees. Since 2009, we have had universal consensus from our sales reps that these costs are nominal. Sales reps do not pay for any housing costs prior to or during the summer. If there are any outstanding, housing-related balances at the end of the summer, NINE|FOLD and the sales rep resolve these in the months following the conclusion of the summer.
Sales reps live together during the summer. Living together fosters unity and learning. There are two sales reps to every bedroom. The local NINE|FOLD Sales Leader gets to know every sales rep personally before the summer and will assign reps to room with other individuals with complementary traits and personalities. Getting along with your roommates helps keep sales reps focused and positive – so it is understandably one of our top priorities.
Everyone has a lot of autonomy in their time off from work. However, there are strict policies that protect everyone working at NINE|FOLD including a no exception policy against alcohol and drugs in or around summer housing.

There is a lot to our name “NineFold”. Specifically, there are 3 meanings:
When a master craftsman forges a world class sword, such as a katana or samurai sword, the steel is heated and then folded time and time again to remove impurities and make the blade stronger. To qualify as a masterwork, the steel needs to be folded at least nine times to be considered sufficiently unbreakable and pure – thus “Nine Folds”. During the summer, everyone is forged and folded. As a result, our foldings make us stronger, purer, more capable people. After a summer of folding, you will be unbreakable.
The word “fold” denotes family or social unite. When you are a part of NineFold, you really are a part of a family that cares about you. We take our family ties serious and will do anything for one another.
A summer with us can return to you nine times, or ninefold, the income as you would have had at another job. Not only, though, is the income ninefold…but so is the knowledge and experience you gain relative to other opportunities.
NINE|FOLD training is constant and comprehensive. Through the years, we have developed the best training program in the industry. Be prepared for one-on-one training on and off the doors, video instruction, an easy to understand and robust training manual, and group training every morning on proven and refined sales techniques. All of these resources are available to every sales rep if they desire them.
What really makes NINE|FOLD training different is the leadership in our company. Almost every sales company wants to grow as fast as they can recruit bodies to sell. NINE|FOLD recruits individuals based on the readiness and availability of strong, capable teachers and leaders. Though sometimes this means turning away sales reps after our offices have reached our quota, it ensures that sales reps have a leader by their side every day that can give individualized attention and focused training. Every sales rep can succeed because our leaders have the bandwidth and skills to accommodate every individual’s personal needs.
This job likely to be the most challenging thing you will do up to this point in your life. A successful summer isn’t due to chance or luck. The summer is going to deliver its fair share of challenges. That is guaranteed. A successful salesman faces these challenges without losing strong work ethic and motivation. If a salesman will do this, there is a 100% chance they will succeed. However, that is easier said than done. The hours and hours of rejection constantly try to tear down your motivation. It’s at this pivotal moment when you have to really dig deep and set your course. When you commit yourself wholeheartedly to work hard and subsequently start to see growth, this job becomes transformative in the way you think, act, and live. You won’t get this experience anywhere else than in the trenches of summer sales.
You should anticipate us being honest and upfront with expectations during the hiring process. If you have ever met with another company and then us, you already know what we’re talking about. We want to only hire those who are a fit with the company. As a result, all reps know what they are getting into.

A NINE|FOLD summer has a suggested schedule that provides the maximum potential for success. Here is what you should anticipate (times subject to change based on local office needs, sunset times, and local leader discretion):
Morning: Training Meeting
Morning to Afternoon: Going door-to-door selling pest control to homeowners
Afternoon to Evening: Meal break
Evening to Dark: Going door-to-door selling pest control to homeowners
After Dark: Visit set appointments
Monday – Friday: Work morning to Dark
Saturday: Work morning to evening (Saturday evenings involve company dinners, company movie trips, etc.)
Sunday: OFF (Church, explore cities and local attractions, RELAX)
The owners of NINE|FOLD have been in the door-to-door pest control industry since 1996. After selling their previous company in 2008 (Eclipse Marketing), NINE|FOLD was founded the following year and has been growing steadily ever since. While many other companies quickly come and go, it says a lot that the founders of NINE|FOLD have the knowledge, successful track record, and passion to be in the industry for decades.
We provide door-to-door marketing services to Pest Control companies across the country.
We hire individuals all across the country! These sales reps then work for us in our markets across the United States. From Seattle to Atlanta and from New Mexico to New York…we have worked everywhere.
We market just during the summer. With most of our teams being comprised of college students, we cater to school schedules to make sure everyone can maximize their summer income and experience.

A lot of people think that you have to be a smooth talking, slick person to do sales. In some sales jobs that may be true. But at NINE|FOLD, it is completely false. We have been doing door-to-door sales for decades. We have seen literally thousands of college aged students with little to no sales experience come into this job and succeed. It is undeniable at this point, there are traits that determine one’s success in this job. If you have what it takes, you will succeed at door-to-door sales. 70% of an individuals sales comes directly from hard work and hard work ALONE. This is THE most important trait that determines a sales rep’s success.
It goes against stereotypes, but it’s true: honest salesmen are good salesmen. This isn’t just honesty with customers, but it’s also honesty with yourself and with those you work with. Being honest allows you to see yourself for who you are and you can see clearly how to improve and do better.
The summer will give you a lot of excuses to not succeed. You have to develop the talent to find excuses to succeed. A never quit attitude equips you with the knowledge that when the going gets tough, you are going to fight back and become stronger.
If you have a desire to improve, you are going to develop the skills necessary to excel as a sales rep. Even sales reps that have been doing this for years have to continuously improve – we believe in the saying, “If you recline, you decline.”
